Milo's Moonlight Moves

Beneath the roots of a great old tree lived Milo the Mouse.

His round wooden door glowed with warm golden light.

Fireflies sparkled above the ferns and flowers outside his cozy home.

Milo peeked out into the evening forest.

Something magical was beginning tonight.

Milo put on his red vest and stepped onto the forest path.

In his paw he carried a small glowing lantern.

Soft moonbeams slipped through the trees, and tiny lights shimmered deeper in the woods.

Milo followed the gentle glow.

Soon Milo reached a quiet brook.

Glowing mushrooms reflected in the water while fireflies floated above the ripples.

Bright leaves and moss sparkled in the moonlight.

Milo knelt beside the water and watched the forest twinkle.

Under a tall oak tree, Milo heard a cheerful sound.

Jingle, jingle, jingle!

There sat Tilly the Turtle, wearing a tiny hat and tapping a tambourine.

Moonbeams danced through the leaves as Milo and Tilly smiled at each other.

A new friendship had begun.

Tilly shook her tambourine softly.

Milo tapped his feet beside them and clapped his hands.

The clearing filled with golden and blue moonlight as their music echoed through the trees.

The forest felt alive and joyful.

At first, Milo felt a little shy.

Fireflies drifted around him while Tilly played her tambourine.

Then Milo tried a tiny clap.

Clap… clap… stomp!

Tilly grinned. Milo was finding his rhythm.

Soon Milo clapped and stomped with happy energy.

Waves of soft light swirled through the clearing as Tilly jingled her tambourine.

The moonlit forest seemed to dance along with them.

Whoooosh!

A gentle gust of wind rushed through the trees.

Leaves twirled through the air and Tilly’s lantern flickered out.

The gust of wind hit Milo while he was dancing.

He lost his balance and fell to the ground. A single tear falls from his face.

Tilly notices Milo’s sadness. Tilly tells Milo to “Take a deep breath, it will be okay”.

Milo takes a deep breath.

Tilly tells Milo “Now stand back up”.

Milo starts to get off the floor.

Milo is now standing back up.

He starts to dance again.

Tilly looks happy that Milo is no longer sad.

Milo and Tilly laughed with joy.

Together they marched around the clearing, music jingling and the lantern glowing softly.

Under the shining moon, their little parade twirled through the trees.

When the night grew quiet again, Milo walked home beneath the fireflies.

His lantern glowed warmly beside the round door in the tree roots.

Milo tells Tilly “Thank you for helping me”.

Tilly reminds Milo “You helped yourself up!”

They both say goodbye.

Tomorrow, another adventure awaits.
